Dry needling
Treatment of myofascial trigger points for persistent muscle knots and referred pain, complementary to physiotherapy.
Dry needling targets myofascial trigger points — areas of muscle tightness that produce local or referred pain — by inserting a specialized physiotherapy needle without injecting medication.
It is applied as a complementary technique within sports or trauma physiotherapy when muscle spasms do not respond to conventional manual therapy.
What's included
- Assessment of active and latent trigger points.
- Dry needling session using superficial or deep technique according to the affected muscle.
- Stretching and myofascial release work following the session.
- Self-care guidelines for the subsequent 48 hours.
